Artist's Comments

Just got back from a camping trip in southwestern Wisconsin with my best friend. This area of Wisconsin is truly unique. The whole of northern US was covered in a mile-thick sheet of glacial ice thrice over. But strangely, thrice did this section of Wisconsin avoid glaciation. So we're left with the topography that existed for hundreds of thousands of years before the last ice ages. This means its a much more dynamic terrain, with massive hills and bluffs and small mountains.

This is in Governor Dodge State Park, one of the largest parks in Wisconsin. Specifically on one of the largest bluffs in the park, looking at Twin Valleys Lake. This is a rather remote spot in the middle of this rather "user-friendly" park. Several mile hike and several hundred feet in elevation, the bluff then demands that a small rock face be scaled to get to the edifice I was standing on. Many more from this spot to come.

Full color version this time

Tech Specs:
Canon EOS 20D + grip
Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM

Very classic theme, you have the earth, water and sky all in one shot. I forgot who it was that did this with photogrpahy. But a lot of people did it with painting in the Renessance era.

I like this best in color, too. I think it would rock SLIGHTLY harder if the random little branch thing in the middle of the top of the photo were not there. I bet camping was spectacular this time of year :)

:jawdrop: i'm sorry i really have nothing of value to add to this

If women ran the Army, would missiles and submarines be shaped differently?
That means I've done my job well, I'll take that as a positive critique ;)

"Is there room in my heart, for you to follow your heart, and not need more blood, from the tip of your star.."--Tori Amos
Uh... you had to underexpose, you burned the clouds. And with close aperture (from F10 to 22) you have much deeper DoF and darker blue sky.

Missing some sharpness. Nice composition :)
